Peter is a Certified Tennis Professional Instructor by the French Federation of Tennis. During his 35 years of teaching and coaching, he was the director of several clubs in France. Since arriving at RCLB in 2007, he has overseen all aspects of the tennis program and coached all ages/experience levels. His expertise in teaching and club management makes RCLB one of the premier tennis destinations on the North Shore. Peter still plays competitively and has been ranked as high as top 30 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings.

Alex attended the University of S. Toulon in France and was one of the top junior national players in the country. He is a certified Tennis Professional Instructor by the French Federation and is also a certified Physical Trainer. Alex has developed top-ten national junior players in France and America and has been a traveling coach for several ITF ranked players. Since coming to RCLB in 2008, Alex has been involved with all aspects of junior development, including group clinics and private lessons. He still plays competitively in prize money tournaments, USTA and CITA leagues.

Teddy is a certified Professional Tennis Coach by the French Federation. He studied for three years at the University of Burgundy, receiving his degree in Physical Training. Before coming to the U.S. in January of 2015, he was the Head Pro of his own facility outside of Paris for two years. Since joining RCLB, he has primarily instructed Level 5/6/7 but also teaches many junior/adult private lessons and “drop-in drills”. Beginning in 2018, Teddy is also Director of the Level 2 juniors. Teddy started playing tennis at 5 years old and is still playing competitively today in CITA and USTA men’s leagues.

Nicolas hails from the south of France, where he has coached and played tennis for most of his life. “Nico” received his Certificate of Tennis Instruction (1st Degree) by the French Federation of Tennis. From 2008-2013 Nico coached in France and during that period he trained one of the nation’s top junior female players. He has competed in the French National Championships several times, playing #1 singles for his team. Nico joined RCLB in 2013 and teaches adult/junior private lessons, instructs various drill sessions and is Director of the Level 3 junior players.

Quentin is a certified Professional Tennis Coach by the French Federation of Tennis. He is a certified Physical Coach as well, having received his degree in Physical Training from the University of Burgundy. Quentin played for the French Championship N2 and was one of the higher-level junior players. He coached kids, adults and some top junior players in France for 10 years before coming to RCLB in 2013. At the Club he is Director of Level 4 juniors, teaches adult/junior private lessons and helps oversee the ladies open drill sessions. Quentin still plays competitively in USTA men’s leagues.

Audrey grew up playing tennis in Kalamazoo, MI and played collegiate tennis at Division II Grand Valley State University. In her senior year she held the #1 singles and doubles spots for the Lakers. She has been teaching tennis for over 15 years, specializing in the “12 and under” age groups. Audrey has teaching certifications from the PTR and USTA for Junior and Adult Development, and has been mentored by some of the best junior coaches in the Midwest. Since rejoining RCLB in 2014, Audrey has been the Director of Level 5/6/7, taught adult/junior private lessons and assists with administering USTA junior tournaments.

Director of Adult Programs

Russ joins the Racquet Club after 19 years as Director of Racquet Sports at Indian Hill Club.  He was responsible for all aspects of club management, specializing in adult league and event coordination.  He has also garnered a reputation as one of the top teaching pros in the region for adult and junior players alike.

A 1986 graduate of Wheaton College, Russ was conference player-of-the-year and NCAA Division III All-American during his tenure with the Thunder.  Aside from a stint as head coach at his alma mater, Russ has also coached several junior players who have gone on to receive Division I scholarships at schools such as Duke, Michigan, Stanford and Notre Dame.  His son Brice is currently a standout player at the University of Richmond.

As Director of Adult Programs at RCLB, Russ will oversee all adult drills and team competition.

Rod has over 45 years of teaching experience and is recognized as one of the best coaches in the Midwest. He has coached thousands of junior players throughout his career after playing collegiate tennis at University of Illinois. Rod was President of the USPTA (Midwest) for 3 years, Pro-of-the-Year 1976, Coach-of-the-Year in 1980, inducted into the USTA Midwest Hall of Fame in 1997 and he received the CDTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. Rod brought his vast experience to RCLB in 2004 and is currently the Head teaching professional at the club. He holds a men’s 65 & over national ranking of #13.

Brian is a prominent teaching professional in the North Shore area. He has been coaching and advising elite juniors for over 30 years, from numerous USTA junior national champions to players on the ATP and WTA tours. Prior to his time at RCLB, Brian spent 16 years as Director of Junior Tennis at College Park and has coached the CDTA’s Super Excellence Program. Through his coaching and mentoring programs, Brian has produced over 250 tennis players that have earned college tennis scholarships. Brian played collegiately at Florida Junior College in Jacksonville (now University of North Florida) as well as Florida State University. At RCLB he instructs Levels 1-4 as well as teaching private lessons.

Tom brings over 45 years of teaching experience to RCLB and has been a competitive player himself since the age of 12. He attended Central Michigan and played all four years on the varsity team, finishing as the #1 singles player and part of the #1 doubles team. Tom went on to coach numerous state champions and nationally ranked players as a head tennis pro in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Many of his pupils participated in the USTA Boy’s Nationals at “the Zoo”. He has also been USPTA certified for 35 years. Joining the staff in 2018, Tom brings his passion, knowledge, and creative coaching expertise to the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.

Alice comes to RCLB from the French town of Eyguières. She played Division I collegiate tennis at Stephen F. Austin University and Northern Arizona University, reaching as high as #1 doubles and #4 singles during her career. After graduating with her degree in exercise science, she returned to France to teach tennis and earned her certification from the French Federation. At RCLB she instructs multiple junior levels, ladies drills and gives private lessons.

Betsy has been teaching at various clubs on the North Shore for over 20 years. She played collegiate tennis at the University of Minnesota and thus far three of her children have also gone on to successful college tennis careers (Lynne-Iowa, Kelly-Cincinnati and Bryant-Northern Illinois). Her younger son Travis was a “Little Mo” national player. Betsy has been a traveling tournament coach for high level juniors and since coming to RCLB in 2016 her focus is junior Level 6 and small group classes. Betsy is also an avid cyclist.
