At the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff, our goal is to provide junior players with the widest range of training opportunities possible. During the outdoor season, many of our top juniors travel to tournaments that all present new and different challenges. Conditions such as weather, time of day and court surface all factor into how they will compete. It then becomes crucial in their development to train in similar conditions.
Under the tutelage of Director of Junior Programs Alex Cotard, some of our top junior players recently conducted a clay-court training session at the Birchwood Club in Highland Park. This practice was held courtesy of Birchwood’s Director of Racquet Sports Mike Carrico (also a teaching pro at RCLB). Strong local connections such as this allow us to further augment our junior development program and prepare our players to compete at the highest levels.
