DIRECTOR OF TENNIS
Quentin is a Certified Tennis Professional Instructor by the French Federation of Tennis. He is a certified Physical Coach as well, having received his degree in Physical Training from the University of Burgundy. Quentin is a veteran tennis pro having taught at RCLB for 11 years. He has served as Co-Director of Junior Tennis as well as the Director of the Junior Green Group. Quentin also works with many private adult groups as well as the ladies team drills.

Johan is a certified Tennis instructor by the French Federation of Tennis. For 4 years, Johan was a national tennis coach in France in charge of some of the best juniors (boys and girls). He was also working with some WTA women players (top 200 in the world). Overall he has over 15 years of teaching experience in clubs and at the French Tennis Federation.
As a player, Johan was ranked top 80 in France. He also played one season of College Tennis in the US at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri.

Originally from Ghana West Africa, Alex was a member of the Ghana National Tennis Team and participated in many World ATP Futures and Challengers events. He came to the States in 2000, attending Carthage College. While there, he played for the Men’s Tennis Team and studied Business Administration. Alex has been a successful Tennis Professional teaching in the North Shore area for 18+ years. Coincidentally, he spent several summers working at the Rod Schroeder National Tennis Academy’s summer camps. Alex currently works with children, youths and adults of all ages and skill levels.

Lito has been involved in Tennis on the North Shore since he was the youngest Director of Tennis at Bath and Tennis Club when he was 23. He is the former Head Pro at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest. Lito started his tennis career very young as he was the Philippines National Champion in every junior age bracket. He played Division 1 tennis at Southern Illinois University -Carbondale where he was the freshman conference champion. Lito works with both juniors and adults at RCLB for both group and private lessons.

Alexis is a French professional tennis instructor certified by the French Federation of Tennis with over 8 years of management and teaching experience at various clubs. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Sport Management and Marketing at the Business School of Chambéry, France.
He recently worked as a manager and tennis/padel coach for juniors and adults in Oman. Alexis will work with adults and juniors at the club for group and private lessons.

Johan played in the French Championship and he recently graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Kinesiology specialty.
He was ranked #31 in the country in NAIA in singles and #2 in the nation in JUCO with Seward.
He coached all ages and levels in French clubs between 2015 and 2019 and more recently in the US at the Blossom Tennis Center (San Antonio, TX).
Johan teaches Juniors classes including adult and ladies team classes. He also gives private lessons.

Kevin is a certified Tennis Instructor by the French Federation of Tennis. Before coming to RCLB in fall of 2016, he was the tennis director at a club in Paris in charge of junior and adult programs. Kevin has coached tennis for over 15 years and currently works with multiple junior levels at the Club in addition to teaching many private lessons.

Alice comes to RCLB from the French town of Eyguières. She played Division I collegiate tennis at Stephen F. Austin University and Northern Arizona University, reaching as high as #1 doubles and #4 singles during her career. After graduating with her degree in exercise science, she returned to France to teach tennis and earned her certification from the French Federation. At RCLB she instructs multiple junior levels, ladies drills and gives private lessons.

JUNIOR TRAVEL TEAM COORDINATOR
Herman has traveled across the Midwest as a tournament coach at the USTA amateur levels and has been a hitting partner to high school athletes with top 100 national rankings, DI/DIII college players and a Top 30 WTA Tour professional. Herman is currently working with several junior levels at RCLB as well as teaching small group classes. He still plays competitively in USTA and CITA men’s leagues.

Jan has been a certified tennis coach for over 20 years and has been playing tennis since he was 5 years old in his birthplace of Prague, Czech Republic.
Jan owned and operated a tennis school in Nurnberg, Germany.
Throughout his career, Jan has coached everyone from young children to senior players, beginner to tournament players. He has trained and coached WTA players, including the 46th ranked player. Jan holds the highest level of certification in Personal Training and Functional Training and is also certified in Running Coaching.
At RCLB, Jan coaches all levels of juniors and adults and gives private lessons.

Rod has over 45 years of teaching experience and is recognized as one of the best coaches in the Midwest. He has coached thousands of junior players throughout his career after playing collegiate tennis at University of Illinois. Rod was President of the USPTA (Midwest) for 3 years, Pro-of-the-Year 1976, Coach-of-the-Year in 1980, inducted into the USTA Midwest Hall of Fame in 1997 and he received the CDTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. Rod brought his vast experience to RCLB in 2004 and is currently the Head teaching professional at the club. He holds a men’s 65 & over national ranking of #13.

Tom brings over 45 years of teaching experience to RCLB and has been a competitive player himself since the age of 12. He attended Central Michigan and played all four years on the varsity team, finishing as the #1 singles player and part of the #1 doubles team. Tom went on to coach numerous state champions and nationally ranked players as a head tennis pro in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Many of his pupils participated in the USTA Boy’s Nationals at “the Zoo”. He has also been USPTA certified for 35 years. Joining the staff in 2018, Tom brings his passion, knowledge, and creative coaching expertise to the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.

Mike brings 45 years of teaching experience to RCLB. He has taught in every capacity at the Club most years since 2001 and currently focuses on small clinics and private groups. Mike is USPTA certified and a former tournament/men’s league competitor. He has been the director at multiple clubs on the North Shore over the years and is currently the Director of Racquet Sports at the Birchwood Club.

Irina is a certified Professional Tennis Coach. She studied at Minsk State University, Minsk, Belorussia. Irina started playing tennis at the age of seven. Before coming to the USA in 1990 Irina was a member of the Junior and Women’s National Teams of Belarus. With many years of teaching experience and her participation in both CITA and USTA, Irina runs many of our drop and drills, teaches our classes and is available for private lessons.

Matt was developed as a junior in the legendary Roland/Andrea Jaeger National Program, as well as the esteemed RSTA Schroeder Academy. He earned Singles/Doubles success and junior rankings, including Chicago CDTA 18’s Doubles, ranked 2nd. Matt has developed/coached juniors, tournament and high school tennis team players, numerous high school state singles & doubles qualifiers, instructed, coached and advised D-1 college and club college players, and also assistant coached a boys high school varsity team. At RCLB, Matt teaches private lessons to juniors, instructs Levels 1-5, and helms & assists adult drills/teams.

Jim, a USPTA certified pro has more than 30 years of tennis teaching experience on the North Shore of Chicago. Jim was a top ranked junior USTA circuit player a former student of The Nick Bollettieri TennisAcademy who excelled at singles and doubles in high school and college. Jim attended Indiana University where he studied Economics and Spanish and currently works for KPMG full time. In his spare time, you’ll find Jim playing in Open level matches in both USTA and CITA divisions including giving private and group instruction.

Alison grew up playing junior tennis in Indianapolis and played varsity tennis for four years on her two-time state champion high school team. She also played a year on Indiana University’s 1987 Big Ten Championship team. Alison taught tennis for over 20 years in Indianapolis and at Club Med Resorts, Midtown in Chicago, and was the Head Pro at the Macatawa Tennis Club in Michigan for 10 summers. Alison was also an elementary school teacher and loves working with children. After taking a break from the world of tennis to raise her 3 children in Lake Bluff, she is super excited to get back on the courts teaching at RCLB!
